The 35th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival has scheduled to screen six horror movies for the first time.
This edition of the festival has designated a new section called ‘Horror at Midnight’ which will screen a movie at 23:30 every night throughout six days of the event.
While horror movies are not favored by Iranian filmmakers, the cinematic event has paid special attention to this genre.
The selected movies to go on silver screen are from South Korea, Japan, Russia, Poland and Mexico and Iran.
Iran’s most important film presentation and competition festival - the International Fajr Film Festival - is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
